Straumann® BLC/TLC Guided Surgery: Precision-Driven Implant Treatment

Digital dentistry continues to reshape implant treatment by enabling clinicians to plan procedures virtually and execute them with greater accuracy. Guided surgery has become an important part of this transformation, helping clinicians translate digital treatment plans into predictable clinical outcomes.

Straumann® BLC/TLC Guided Surgery is a dedicated workflow designed for Straumann® BLC™ and TLC™ implants. By combining digital planning software, customized surgical templates, and guided instruments, the system supports accurate implant placement according to the planned treatment position.

Digital Planning with coDiagnostiX®

The workflow begins with implant planning using coDiagnostiX® software. Based on CBCT data and implant positioning, the software generates a surgical protocol that specifies drill sequences, drill lengths, T-sleeve positions, and guided instruments required for the procedure.

This helps clinicians prepare for surgery with a structured and efficient workflow.

Accurate Implant Bed Depth Control

Straumann® Guided Surgery uses different T-sleeve positions (H2, H4, and H6), guided drill handles, and drill lengths to achieve the planned implant bed depth.

A physical stop mechanism helps ensure that drilling and implant placement follow the digital treatment plan with a high level of consistency.

Supporting Guided and Fully Guided Surgery

The system supports both:

  • Guided Pilot Drilling

  • Fully Guided Surgery

For fully guided procedures, implant bed preparation and implant placement can be performed through the surgical template using dedicated Straumann® guided instruments.

Optimized for Straumann® BLC and TLC Implants

For Straumann® BLC™ and TLC™ implants, the workflow includes profile drilling to shape the implant bed according to implant geometry.

Dedicated profile drills and guided adapters help clinicians achieve accurate osteotomy preparation while supporting implant stability and predictable outcomes.

Supporting the Future of Digital Implant Dentistry

By integrating coDiagnostiX® planning software, customized surgical templates, and Straumann® BLC/TLC implants, the guided surgery workflow provides a modern solution for implant treatment.

The system helps clinicians improve precision, enhance treatment predictability, and support a more efficient digital implant workflow for everyday clinical practice.
